Bias or “simple respect for Obama’s long public service”?

According to Drudge, Time’s got Barack Obama on the cover for the 7th time this year (to 2 for John McCain). A study of late-night political jokes by the Center for Media and Public Affairs finds the network comedians clearly avoiding humor about Democratic candidate Barack Obama, while piling the jokes on President Bush and Sens. John McCain and Hillary Clinton. LA Times blogger Andrew Malcolm quips:

The study did not explore why Obama got off so lightly on the network shows from New York and Burbank. So we’ll all just have to guess: probably out of simple respect for Obama’s long public service.

Free markets at work.  Obama is more interesting than McCain and sells more magazines.

Ace nailed it. Also, given how bad the current administration has governed, the election was always going to be centered on whether or not the Dems were providing an adequate alternative. As I look at the McCain website I notice that it often seems centered on Obama also.
