But Hugh, what about the dirty tricks

Mitt Romney booster-in-chief Hugh Hewitt provides a long wrap up on Romney’s weekend, including this tid-bit:

Firm but affable, in command of the facts and committed to the Reagan-Bush coalition, not aiming to end it, is the ticket.

Left unmentioned, however, are the reports of Romney’s dirty tricks campaign against Fred Thompson and John McCain.

All is fair in Hugh’s world, so long as his man wins.  I don’t know if Hugh would kill and drink the blood of infants if he thought it would promote Romney (although it would not surprise me), but I am pretty sure he would smother John McCain with a pillow if he ever got the chance.

Hugh has his moments, but is there anyone who takes him seriously?  He’s the ultimate 21st century Cicero—a nice talker with a clear political agenda which is plainly about people he knows rather than about anything larger.

In another thread, there’s talk about how we can pity Hillary.  Hugh’s the one I pity.  He thinks he’s the wizard of Oz when he’s not even the guy behind the curtain: he’s the guard at the door telling Dorothy to go away.
