Apparently some folks believe that the New England Patriots lost the Super Bowl because Tom Brady’s girlfriend, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, was drinking red wine rather than beer in her sky box. Really.
Picky, picky.
Admittedly she is very distracting.
"Picky, picky.”
No one in any of the linked pieces suggests that NE lost because “Bündchen was drinking red wine rather than beer in her sky box.” How is it “picky” to observe that your post is completely wrong?
I thought the threat posted after this one was the “conspiracy of the week.” You can’t have two.
I say that’s not a negative. If Bündchen’s wine consumption is what caused the Patriot’s loss, I say that is yet another positive in wine’s column.
And I say this as someone who likes both wine and beer - both are fun, flavorful drinks, but wine is better.

No, not really.
Referring to comments mentioned in a WSJ story, the Wine Spectator says, “Some even insinuated that it was Bündchen and her wine that caused New England’s loss.” But the WSJ writer cited only 1) “one of the doormen in our building” who “wondered if the sight of her had proved distracting,” and 2) an obviously tongue-in-cheek blog post by Jeff Boswell.
