Hugh Misses the Point

Hugh Hewitt complains:

McCain won in New Hampshire because of independents, and is neck-and-neck with Romney in Michigan because of independents and Democrats.

Last time I checked, having support from independents and Democrats is really quite useful in the upcoming exercise called a “general election.”

The promises Romney is making in Michigan are so over the top, good grief. Does he really believe he can bring 250,000 manufacturing jobs back to Michigan? Nonsense.

Romney left Michigan as soon as he got out of high school, never came back for more than a brief visit, and now claims to love every inch of the state.

"Hewitt Misses the Point” seems like a endlessly recycleable headline.  Good to see the Professor doing his part to save the earth.

Correct as always Professor!  In a close race with Democrats, indies matter a lot (remember Reagan Democrats?).  But McCain also won with registered Republicans in New Hampshire.  Granted it was close (I think he won by one point) but McCain would have won even if New Hampshire was a closed primary.

I am sure Hewitt considered you addled with too much wine and goose liver.  But keep up the good work.

My goodness, haven’t you figured it out yet?  Hugh writes a comedy blog now.  Stop taking him so seriously!

The problem with your with your logic is that McCain being the Democrat’s favorite Republican is that in the general election he will still be the second favorite candidate.

We probably agree that Romney is unelectable.  I just think that McCain is unelectable as well.
