Spitzer to Resign
An announcement is expected at 11:30 AM EDT today, with the reisgnation being effective Monday. An attempt to brazen it out would have drawn even more charges of hypocrisy, considering the way Spitzer forced Hank Greenberg to quit at AIG, even though Greenberg was never charged with any criminal offense, and the way Spitzer forced Jeffrey Greenberg to quit Marsh & McLennan.
