FRED THOMPSON: Dark horse candidate for 2008? I had him down as Chief Justice, but you never know. . . .

UPDATE: Several readers email to say that a Thompson/Rice, or a Rice/Thompson, ticket would suit them just fine for 2008. The GOP could do worse. And probably will!

Kudos to Doug Petch for starting the meme. On the issues I care about (life, taxes, defense, business, etc.), Thompson was very solid, as this analysis of his Senate voting record shows. His lifetime ACU ranking was very commendable 86. His lifetime ADA rating was a highly commendable 5! Draft Fred in '08!
