Microsoft-Yahoo Roundup

The WSJ Deal Journal rounds up blogosphere reactions to the latest developments in the Microsoft-Yahoo non-deal, including:

Jerry Yang was able “to avoid being Microserfed” but John Carney of Dealbreaker wonders if Yang’s strategy of avoiding the deal by landing an ad agreement with Google will fly in court. Carney cites law professor Stephen Bainbridge’s post pointing out that the partnership with Google might be acceptable to the Delaware courts if Yahoo proves it was part of its long-term business plan. The problem, though, is “everyone knows they came up with this as an ad-hoc defense,” Carney writes.
