Steven Jackson Update

News report:

Rams coach Scott Linehan says progress is being made in talks with running back Steven Jackson, but a new deal has not been reached.

Thank goodness. If Jackson signs and is ready to go by the opening game, my Bruinskins fantasy team will be in good shape. If not, I’ll be starting Maurice Jones-Drew and Julius Jones at RB and either Nate Burleson or Bryant Johnson at the flex R/W position.

Fortunately, with Jason Campbell and Phillip Rivers as backup QBs (behind Drew Brees), I’ve got solid trade bait for when somebody else’s QB-1 inevitably goes down. Still, if Jackson doesn’t sign soon and people’s QBs stay healthy, the first few weeks of the season could be very rocky.
